The Rotary Club of Sullivans Cove was formed in March 1979 under the auspices of the Rotary Club of Hobart. It is a small group (approx. 25) of businessmen and women who meet to share excellent food, information and friendship whilst collaborating in service to local, national and international communities.
Members man the Parliament House Car Park adjacent to the famed Salamanca Market every Saturday and proceeds are distributed to the Hobart Police Youth Club, Louie’s Van, Ronald McDonald House and other causes. We participate in the Mini United Nations Awards, National Youth Science Forum, Rotary Youth Driver Awards, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and at present are sponsoring a Tasmanian teenager on exchange in Sweden.
The Rotary Club of Sullivans Cove gratefully acknowledges the support of both Houses of Parliament which has enabled the Club to raise and distribute well over $500,000 over the many years we have manned the Parliament House car park.
The Club also funded the supply and installation of an Outdoor Gym at the commencement of the Hobart Bike Track on the Regatta Ground.
Meeting place is the Black Buffalo Hotel on the corner of Federal and Letitia Streets in North Hobart. Every Tuesday – 12.45 for 1.00pm finishing promptly at 2 p.m.
